Ken J. Makin is a writer and podcaster with 20 years of experience in journalism. A native of Augusta, Ga., Ken attended Florida A&M University, then returned home to start his career at The Aiken Standard in Aiken, S.C. After stops at The Metro Courier, The Augusta Chronicle and Urban Pro Weekly, he started his freelance career. To date, he has bylines with The Christian Science Monitor, Andscape (ESPN) and MSNBC. He is an award-winning member of the South Carolina Press Association. Ken is married with two sons.
